Barron Partners CEO Andrew Barron Worden Highlights Key Trends at Clean & Green Investment Forum

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Barron Partners CEO Andrew Barron Worden Highlights Key Trends at Clean & Green
Investment Forum

NEW YORK, June 21, 2011 – The construction of a large distributed solar
facility capable of providing electricity to residential and commercial
customers at comparable or lower cost than standard utilities was one of the
major topics addressed by Andrew Barron Worden of Barron Partners as a featured
panelist at the Clean and Green Investment Forum in San Francisco.

The panel discussion identified key trends and developments in private equity
funding for cleantech companies. Some of the areas explored by Mr. Worden and
other distinguished investment professionals on the panel included defining
cleantech and “green” investment opportunities, shedding light on how cleantech
companies are valued and understanding how financial professionals view return
on investment (ROI) from cleantech investments.

In discussing Barron’s cleantech focus, Mr. Worden pointed to the solar market
and the prospects for achieving gridparity. “Our five-year plan is to push the
downstream build-out of a large distributed solar utility as electricity prices
go up,” Mr. Worden said. “To finance this, our companies will raise debt
financing and lay out solar bonds by the big investment banks.

Commercial, industrial and government customers define this market, according
to Mr. Worden. “If we can provide cheap solar electricity, these customers will
love it. It should be an easy sell.”

On targeting companies, Mr. Worden said “We go all over. We find companies that
make big metal [equipment]…  which we then transform into cleantech companies
over time by retooling and refocusing their growth.”

When asked whether he thought investors would give up some financial return
because of the environmental importance of cleantech, Mr. Worden said: “My
guess is that people will give up a little bit of return but not a lot.”

The Clean and Green Investment Forum was hosted on June 6-7, 2011 by Opal
Financial Group. The event was attended by representatives of trusts, pension
funds, and endowments, as well as utility companies, federal and state
government agencies, and energy-equipment companies.
